When learning about 'The people who help us' Primary 1 were lucky enough to receive a visit from our local vets.  The vets surprised us by bringing along Danny the Dog.  The children learned all about the different jobs that vets carry out.  The children learned how to apply bandages to animal using soft teddies to practise.  They even learned how to use a stethoscope to check Danny's heart and how to use a special machine that locates and reads the information on Danny's microchip. The boys and girls learned so much from this visit and really enjoyed asking question and finding out information about the role of the vets in our community.

Primary 1 at Edinbarnet have been learning all about 'People Who Help Us'.  We began by looking at the people who help us at home and in our school, then over the last few weeks we moved on to explore the people who help us in our local community.  We were extremely lucky to receive visits from our local Police and Fire Service, the Opticians and also our local Lollipop Man John. The children gained so much from these visits, including the opportunity to ask questions, test out equipment and even try on some of the uniforms worn by our community helpers! It wasn't only the children who benefited from these exciting visits...our Head Teacher Mrs McCormick also got her office windows cleaned with the Firemen's hose! Olivia loved testing out the hose!
