Edinbarnet’s new additions!
As part of primary 1’s topic this term ‘On the Farm’ the children were delighted to receive a special delivery of 10 chick eggs from ‘Farmer Jack’. Farmer Jack wrote to the children asking if they could help to look after the eggs until they hatched as the mother hen had laid so many she couldn't look after them all by herself! The children were excited to help out and through this have been developing their knowledge and skills across the curriculum. First, the children devised a set of rules to ensure the safety of the eggs and themselves. Then, in cooperative groups, the children designed some colourful lettering to make a new wall display. In our Big Writing last week, the children developed their functional writing skills by writing a set of instructions on how to care for a baby chick.
